Elliot Pepper, CPA, CFP®, MST

Financial Planner & Director of Tax

Makes sure we integrate the best tax strategies into your financial plan

Prior to launching Northbrook Financial, Elliot – a summa cum laude graduate of University of Maryland and University of Baltimore – worked in the tax practice of Ernst & Young, a “Big 4” global accounting firm, and Brown Advisory, a multi-national investment advisory firm. With strong tax technical acumen and a deep understanding of personal financial behavioral habits, Elliot connects with his clients by providing objective and actionable advice in relatable laymen’s terms.

When he’s not reading up on the latest changes to the tax code, Elliot enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two sons. An avid runner and basketball fanatic, he has completed multiple marathons and loves playing and watching basketball with friends and family. He is also a self-described book worm and particularly enjoys reading about behavioral economics, financial markets, and anything related to big wave surfing!

Mike Delaney, CFP®, ChFC®

Financial Planner & Director of Investments

Finds the best investment opportunities and integrates them into your financial plan

Mike focuses his energy into helping clients navigate all of their financial needs. His experience includes a stint on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, a career focused on investments at Brown Advisory and insurance at Securian Financial. During these experiences, he learned that a balanced approach and strategic financial planning is what can help clients achieve their goals.

When not talking to clients or researching the next great opportunity for them, Mike & his wife enjoy quiet city living and relaxing whenever their new daughter allows. He loves playing soccer, lacrosse, golf, basketball… and really any sport. When he’s not meeting friends or family at the movies or the local watering hole, you can normally find him reading something very nerdy, like science fiction or financial science.

Crystal K. McGuire, CPA

Director of Tax Operations

Get everything that needs getting done, done.

Crystal, a Midwest native and Missouri State University Masters of Accountancy graduate, has since worked primarily in the field of tax with public accounting experience at large national firms and smaller regional firms as well as experience at a multi-national investment advisory firm. As a result of various family-motivated moves, she has lived and worked in St. Louis, Missouri; Jacksonville, Florida; New York, New York; Baltimore, Maryland; and Tampa, Florida. Crystal’s broad experience brings a fresh perspective and her attention to detail and knack for organization lend themselves well to the tax practice at Northbrook Financial.

When she’s not hard at work behind-the-scenes with tax compliance and planning, Crystal, a mom of three, enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys baking cookies, getting crafty and soaking up the views on walks through her lakefront community in the beautiful Sunshine State.

Kelly McCormick
